Tutors are available from 2-11pm for homework assistance.  Looking for  worksheets to brush up on math skills? There is also a Skills Resource Library, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with links to helpful websites.  You can use Tutor.com in the library, or at home using your Vernon Area Public Library card.  Give Tutor.com a try.

A new smartphone application and mobile website allow patrons of the Vernon Area Public Library to find books, DVDs and other items using their Web-enabled mobile phone.

The mobile website and its companion app provide patrons quick access to the most popular library services. Search the catalog and place items on hold, renew checked-out items or save records for later use. Easily find the library’s hours, phone number or driving directions. Find upcoming events, register for library classes, or even contact a librarian.

The mobile website is located at http://m.vapld.info and works on any Web-enabled phone. iPhone and Android users can download the app by searching for “LibraryAnywhere” in the iTunes App store or Android Marketplace.

The app download is completely free and easy to use.  A library card is required for some services.

Bypass the waiting list with Advantage e-books

Vernon Area Library cardholders have priority VIP access to the titles listed below. Even if the waiting list appears long, as a Vernon Area Library cardholder, you will jump to the front of the line (or close to it), thanks to copies we have purchased exclusively for use by our patrons. To view or download our Advantage titles, you'll need to first log in to Overdrive/MyMediaMall with your Vernon Area Library card number and PIN (the last 4 digits of your phone number). New Advantage titles added this month include:

 June is National Audiobook Month, so listen up.  The library has books on CD (perfect for a roadtrip!), Playaways and downloads through MyMediaMall and OneClickDigital.   Check our list of Family Friendly audiobooks for a good story to share.
