Sponsored by the Friends of the Vernon Area Public Library
The Allen Meyer Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of the Vernon Area Public Library District’s former Library Director Allen Meyer. Allen was the Library Director at VAPLD from 1988 to 2008 when he passed away from cancer. During his time with the library, Allen provided strong leadership that allowed the library to meet the ever-changing informational and technological needs of district residents. Allen set ever-increasing high standards of excellence for himself and his staff, and he valued his day-to-day interactions with the staff and public. Allen enjoyed working with the community and strived to provide the best library services possible.
